Being new to the meidcal billing process,and trying to get a better understanding in this area of the medical field, I thought this post on the "Ten Steps to a Successful Medical Billing Process" was very informative, but one of the things I was wondering was, with HIPAA, ICD CPT, and HCPCS how have they influnced each of these ten steps of the medical billing process? Just curious to what others think about this part of the billing process. Thank you! 
 

I think that HIPAA has influenced the billing process by keeping the PHI confirential, thus making the patient feel more trusting in the medical field. The CPT and HCPCS help in sure that health professional are gettin paid and paid fairly.
